In April, 2009 the Dollar General building on Water St. was sold to Gene Bowen and Karen McGinn from Atlanta, Ga. who operate the business as Heritage Arts Center. The arts center will include a complete bakery along with an art gallery showcasing both Gene's photography as well as Karen's paintings and other artistic abilities. They will also offer art related classes and demonstrations in pottery, painting, weaving, and spinning. Photography, graphic design and gemology will also be available from the owners.
